Thanks, photomnt! I'll be sure to write back with the results. Did you ever visit that Hazel filmfestival site? They've actually got a film festival coming up in Seattle this fall.

Aha! Finally, an update on the FFF website. They've just posted the final selections. I just popped over to the animation category, and--yikes!!! There are a LOT of animated films.

Stiff competition. But its good to see so many animated student films in one place--that doesn't happen often.

What was the name of your film, Acewild? I want to look up the synopsis. The synopsis for Art's New Car is wrong, by the way. No, it is not a short science film about the way animation works, lol. I'm going to send Ms. Katrina an email (but its so late, I doubt it matters anyway).

No worries, no worries...

[EDIT: Oho! Just had a look at the Future Filmmakers Festival teaser.

I'll save you the time. It is in the short form drama section.

Memory of a Loss
Addison Stamper
Age 18

An exploration of happiness, pain, danger, depression and ultimately the accepting of each of these emotions.

Descriptive no?

My only hope coming into this is that my film holds up. I don't need it to win anything I just want it to be comparable in the line up. I have three huge molments in my film that I cringe at everytime I see them. There are other moments that I think are brilliant that I know that only a person that has seen the shot ten billion times (me) is gonna think of the meaning behind them. I just hope I hold up.

Why thank you. I intend to be there for the short dramas then.

Yeah, when you do your own editing, it can distort your view of the film. I run into the same problem when writing cartoon gags--by the time I'm done editing, I can't tell what's funny and what's not.

Yah I listen to the commentaries of the Simpsons. After spending a week on a single joke there is no way it can seem funny to you even if it is.

But my issues don't even have that level of an excuse. I have one looking at the camera, two wierd light shots (I forgot to set the camera so the light it one shot is enirely diffrent form another in one scene), an a weird slow motion shot. They looked fine on my little editing screen but on a full screen.... but hey they aren't distracting, and last time I showed this people in the audience cried.

Spammers and trolls, all of you! GET OUT, I SAY!

Hello...

Realizing that I'm probably the only real person who visits this site anymore, I thought I'd give this a shot anyway:

Dear Ms. Katrina,

An unsavory swarm of spammers and porn posters has invaded this forum, making it very difficult to use. This is a shame because it would be really cool to use this forum again. I'd like to recommend this site to some filmmaker buddies, but at the same time, I don't want them to find a bunch of porn posts when they get here...

I know you're probably very busy with other things, and I don't blame you for leaving the forum for a while; it was empty. But I'm hoping to help fix that. Is it possible to get rid of the spam posts?

I would email you, but your email seems to have changed from the one that's listed. Are you still working with Future Filmmakers Festival? You really did an awesome job this year...

I hope you're still around. We need you! And not just to boot spammers smiley .

Ttyl,
